Andrilla Sullivan
IMG HERE if so desiredName: Andrilla Sullivan
Pronunciation: ahn-DREE-ah
Age:20 Turns
Turn and Season of Birth:1741; summer
Gender:Female
Sexuality:Heterosexual
Location: Previous of a small fishing village; currently of Tigris
Rank: Raider/Candidate
Appearance: Never in a million turns would Andrilla be considered as tall. In fact, standing at round about five feet in height, maybe five foot one, she might be considered petite. Currently, due to unpredictable meals she is a bit lean but there are promises of luscious curves should she be fed properly. Even given her overly lean state, she has long passed the point of being able to disguise herself as a boy. With a light complexion and a youthful face complete with dimples, upturned nose, lively green eyes and a wide smile, it is easy enough to understand how Andrilla might be able to charm herself out of a sticky situation. Her hair is a strawberry blonde that strays awfully close to being considered ginger and tends to be a bit unruly, being a mixture of waves and curls and grown a bit coarse due to the dry heat of Tigris.
Personality: To say that the stereotype of redheads applies to Andrilla isn't entirely off the mark. She certainly has her moments. Though there are two very distinct sides to her. The side that only a few trusted people see is lively, uninhibited and quite open; those that trust her rarely have to guess at what she's thinking or feeling. When she's happy she shares it, when she's angry she most definitely shares it. For the most part, Alikai is the only one she spends enough time with to open up to and certainly he's learned over the years just how to make her mad enough to pitch fits and anything she can lift really. She is easily riled, especially by Alikai as he's learned all her little buttons and quite enjoys pushing them just as she enjoys pushing his buttons.
As far as her closest friend is concerned she is protective of him and when he is threatened tends to become a whirling storm of knives and nails. Perhaps one of her favorite pastimes is annoying Alikai and besting him at something though she tends to get particularly miffed when he bests her. To those who don't know her well she is distrustful, suspicious and aloof, often hard to read. Easily riled and possessed of an explosive temper, Andrilla tends to rage until she tires herself out or until Alikai calms her though she tends to hold onto grudges for quite a while. In all she's opinionated, crass, vocal, and possessed of a short temper though fiercely loyal to those who earn her trust.
Family: Andrilla has no family that she will readily claim aside from Alikai that being said the following is the extent of her family tree:
Andros Sullivan; 45, Father, Sailor, Status Unknown
Rillana Jensen; Deceased, Mother, Apprentice Weaver, Victim of Miscarriage
Arinos Sullivan; 24, Brother, Soldier, Status Unknown
Illano Sullivan; Deceased, Brother, Infant, Victim of Miscarriage
History: Born in a small sea hold on the western coast of the northern continent, Andrilla had a rather happy childhood. Her father and mother were both very attentive and her older brother not nearly as obnoxious as most. Her father was a sailor, working to both support his young family and towards the goal of a trading ship of his own. When at home he would teach his children how to swim, fish, sail and tell tales of his journeys. Andrilla's favorite stories often involved exotic places and creatures; firelizards being a recurring fascination. Shortly before her eleventh nameday everything changed. Her father suffered an accident at sea and was taken by dragon to the Healer Hall. Her mother, who was five months pregnant, went to be with him and her son who had been apprenticed to his father, leaving Andrilla with family friends.
Six months passed during which Andrilla withdrew from her social life, becoming something of a recluse and keeping her own council. When her father and brother returned without her mother she knew that something had happened but no one would tell her. Her father was a changed man; crippled and broken both in mind and spirit and soon enough turned to alcohol to drown his sorrows. No more stories or trips on the family's one-masted ship. In fact, her father ignored Andrilla for several months as she skulked about, intent on finding out what had happened to her mother. Eventually she stole the bundle of letters that had come from Healer Hall regarding her father and mother and discovered that her mother had suffered a miscarriage and had succumb to blood loss. When she confronted her father about it, that's when the problems began.
As the months passed Andrilla's father became more and more unpredictable in his drunkeness. Her older brother took the brunt of the abuse--most of it verbal--but as much as he wanted to protect his little sister, he wanted to be free even more and when Andrilla was fourteen he'd finally had enough. Things got progressively worse after that as with each passing turn, Andrilla began to look more and more like her dead mother; a constant torment for her besotted father. Though there were times he would rage and rip through the house like a sea squall, Andrilla did her best to take care of her father. With no one to lean on she lurked at the edges of the social circles in the hold and spent more and more time away from home perfecting various unusual skills; for a girl from a small fishing hold. Knife throwing, lock picking, climbing, swimming.
It was after a particularly bad explosion by her father in her seventeenth turn that Andrilla reconnected with a friend from her childhood. His name was Alikai and his family had lived at the Runner post. The two grew close over the months and when Andrilla's father went too far and actually struck her with his crutch, she ran to him. They left that night and Andrilla joined Alikai in his quest to find answers about the death of his parents. Before they could make it to Ruatha, however, the war broke out and the soldiers turned them back. Rather than stick around and risk getting forced into joining a war they wanted no part of, Andrilla and Alikai went West, posing as the children of a middle-aged woman after a deal was struck concerning some stolen goods.
Adjusting to the unforgiving climate of the Western Continent where Tigris has made its home proved to be a little difficult for Andrilla given her fair complexion but once the breathable, covering garments became readily available she fared a bit better. Andrilla has found her niche in helping with and on occasion helping to plan raids on various holds and weyrs for both supplies and eggs to stock the Sands. Tigris has been good for her though she is still loathe to trust anyone completely aside from Alikai.
Dragon Preferences:
Color Preferences | Green or a female mutation color | I would prefer a female and Gold isn't exactly suiting |
Personality Preferences | Protective, reliable, and perhaps a bit violent | Andrilla has abandonment issues and though a dragon is forever something that is more readily possessive of her and adamant about sticking around and such would illicit a shorter bonding period than would otherwise be required. |
Cross Impression | Yes | Honestly it's neither here nor there. |
What would you like their Ellided name to be? | N/A | N/A |
Mauling? | HECK YES | Short of death and extensive dismemberment; I'm game! |
